Onsite Badge Pickup & Registration

Registration & Badges

Main Registration: BCEC, North Lobby
Satellite Registration: Omni Seaport Hotel, Audition room on Level Two

Attendees are required to provide one or both of the following to obtain a conference badge:

  • a valid government-issued photo ID, or a  
  • valid passport.

ID Required for Entrance to the BCEC

Attendees are required to show a valid form of ID whenever entering the BCEC.

Acceptable forms of ID include:

– your NAR NXT badge, or
– a government issued ID.

Security at the Boston Convention & Exposition Center (BCEC)

Important details for entering the BCEC.

Evolv Security Scanners

The Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC) uses Evolv scanners at each building entrance to create a more secure environment. Scanners and Public Safety Officers will be stationed at all four entrance points, which include:
 

  • the North Lobby entrance (main entrance),
  • both shuttle entrances on Level 1, and
  • the skybridge connection from the Westin on Level 2.
Scanner Protocol:
 

  • No need to stop as you walk through the scanner.
  • Attendees will carry their bag(s) through the units.
  • Attendees are not required to empty pockets or remove any electronic devices (including mobile phones).
A Public Safety Officer monitoring the scanners will let anyone who triggered the scanner know if you need to have your bag searched or items removed from your pockets.  Items that may set off the scanner include:
  • Laptops/Laptop batteries
  • Some electronic devices such as power packs and heavy-duty tablets
  • Eyeglass cases
  • Most rolling luggage
  • Metallic water bottles
  • Metal impants or wearable medical devices

Evolv Scanner Exceptions:

Please note: Attendees with a metal implant or wearable medical device should consult your device manufacturer or physician for information relating to your own specific device to know if you can walk through the Evolv scanner.

If you are not able to walk through the Evolv unit, you can have your bag(s) checked and will be swept with a wand.

The same guideline applies to pregnant people.

Prohibited Items:

The following will be confiscated at screening or turned away:

  • Alcohol/Drugs and drug paraphernalia
  • Firearms
  • Knives or any other kind of weapon (Swords, crossbows, clubs, etc)
  • Tasers or stun guns

Any confiscated item will NOT be returned to the guest at any point.

K9 Coverage

NAR is arranging for K9 coverage at the BCEC during the morning hours to help with potential bag searches. K9s will be located at the following entrances:
  • North Lobby Entrance on Meeting Level 1
  • Both Shuttle Entrances on the East Side Drive of Meeting Level 1

Where is the coat/bag check at the Boston Convention & Exposition Center?

Coat/bag check is located in the main lobby of the Boston Convention & Exposition Center. 

Are scooters or wheelchairs available?

Yes. Electric scooters or wheelchairs can be rented and delivered to your hotel. Several companies in Boston offer free delivery and pickup.

NAR is committed to offering an outstanding experience for all participants. This includes a focus on those participants with disabilities.

ADA Registration Counters

The NAR NXT registration at the BCEC will include lower registration counters.

Reserved Seating in Educational Sessions and General Sessions

NAR will reserve seating in both the Education Sessions as well as the General Sessions. These chairs will be designated with a white sash or band with the blue accessibility icon. The sash wraps around the back of the chair. For other sessions or events, one of the room monitors or ushers will be happy to assist you in finding a seat or in removing a chair from a round table as needed.

Special Assistance Shuttles

ADA shuttle service to/from official NAR hotels and event locations will be provided for those who need this. You can schedule your ride(s) in advance, even including your schedule for the entire event, once you know your schedule. Otherwise, please allow at least 60 minutes prior to your desired pickup time to call for this shuttle service. The email address and phone number will be provided in the event app closer to the conference.

Parking
  • Boston Convention and Exposition Center (BCEC) – Self-parking is available in the center’s South Lot at $25.00 per day for standard-size vehicles. The Boston Convention and Exposition Center runs a complimentary South Lot shuttle to the front of the building. This runs one hour before the start of the event activity and continues running until one-hour past the event activity.
  • The Westin Boston Seaport District Hotel – Self-parking is $44.00 per day and valet parking is $54.00 per day. Enter both self and valet parking via the front drive of the hotel.
  • Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport – Self-parking is $49.00 per day and valet parking is $59.00 per day. Self-parking is located on World Trade Center Avenue behind the hotel.

Nursing Rooms

The Boston Convention and Exposition Center (BCEC) has a Child Nursing Room located in the Southeast Lobby C, Level 1 (adjacent to the restroom and near room 159).

NOTE: You need to use the Mamava app to open the pod, so plan to download that in advance. You unlock the Mamava nursing pod via the app which is controlled via Bluetooth. Additionally, the app (available for Apple and Android) can help you locate nearby locations within one mile.

The Child Nursing Rooms lock from the inside and provide a private space for nursing mothers to pump or breastfeed.
