John Hentschel, CRE, is the 2025 Global Chair of The Counselors of Real Estate, a global organization of real property advisors.

Mr. Hentschel is also president of Hentschel Real Estate Services in Abingdon, Maryland.  A real estate advisor, appraiser, broker, and negotiator of complex transactions and public-private partnerships in the U.S. and globally, he is a recognized educator and author offering strategic advice, valuation, and transactional services to businesses as well as government, financial, and nonprofit organizations.  He also provides expert testimony and litigation strategy. Mr. Hentschel was formerly the Chief Real Estate Officer for the City of Baltimore and senior advisor to the Mayor and elected leaders.  He directed its Department of Real Estate and was responsible for property valuation, acquisition, disposition, leasing, and management of the city's diverse portfolio of 7,000 properties and three million square feet of leased space.
